Alien creatures have terrorized the planet using ultra sensitive hearing to hunt and  annihilate us to the brink of extinction. After the lose of their young son a family struggles to survive with their two other children continuing their plan to survive while preparing to bring a baby into a world in which sound means death!  John Krasinski directs & stars with Emily Blunt in the suspenseful & horrifying 2018 film, A Quiet Place. We take a look back at the film as we get ready for the sequel to hit theaters.....sometime this year we hope!
We also hope to allow you to escape for an hour amongst the fears of the world as we tell you about Knives Out & Midway in Download This.  We also talk about the effect of COVID-19 is having on Hollywood as the we move forward & see what the future may hold!  But no worries we plan to keep on podcasting and next week we look back at Kevin Smith's Mallrats! EPISODE 188: THE FOUNTAIN

The past, present, & future collide as the search for life's answer to immortality is seeked out by a Conquistador, a scientist, & a space traveler in director Darren Aronofsky's 2006 film The Fountain.  Hugh Jackman plays a man in three different eras as he tries to save the people he loves in a film that challenges us in the way we think about our beliefs, our mortality, & more in this unseen gem of a film from the last decade.

EPISODE 186: THE RAID: REDEMPTION

A S.W.A.T. team is sent into a tenement to take down a ruthless drug lord.  What they find is a 40 story building full of killers, gangsters, & thugs ready to protect their boss & stop at nothing to keep the police from reaching their destination.  What they didn't count on was young Officer Rama & his fighting abilities, will to survive, & his wits to do what must be done & stop the villains once & for all!  It's the Indonesian martial arts epic from director Gareth Evans on this week's episode as we talk the instant classic, The Raid: Redemption.  We are joined by friend & fellow podcaster Matt Ramirez as we discuss one of his favorite flicks this week!

EPISODE 185: ROBOCOP

In the crime riddled future of Detroit big corporation has taken over & the biggest of them all, OCP plans to reshape the city in their vision but first, they must make the streets safe again!  After Officer Murphy is brutally murdered the corporation turns him into a cyborg cop that is under their control.  Murphy searches to regain some humanity that's left meanwhile getting revenge on his killers & bringing down the greedy OCP.  Peter Weller stars in the 1987 ultra violent classic, Robocop!  We are glad to welcome Jason Elliot back to the show from Bayou City Geeks as he discusses this classic with us & so much more!

EPISODE 183: FACE/OFF

In order to stop him, he must become him! Police officer Sean Archer  has tracked the terrorist who killed his son for years and finally gets him.  But just when he thinks its all over, Castor Troy has one last gift in the form of a bomb in Los Angeles that could wipe the city.  With no choice left Archer under goes an experimental procedure swapping faces with Archer, essentially becoming him!    The bomb is stopped but not before Troy awakes & he too gets a new face in the form of Archer!  A war is waged as the villain does dastardly things in his new body while Archer tries to stay alive in order to get his life back & sto the criminal!  It's wild ride from master action director John Woo as Nicolas Cage & John Travolta star in this modern classic, Face/Off!
We also discuss the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant & his daughter.  We look back on our memories of Bryant as a player & discuss why the world mourns someone we only knew from the outside looking in.  He will be missed as we say goodbye to Kobe Bryant.  We also talk what we have watched or played in Download This, the latest news including two new Transformers films on the way, & then preview next week's film in which we will be joined by the Cult 45 Podcast as we discuss another 90's gem, Con-Air!

EPISODE 182: STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN

Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise finds himself in a cat & mouse game of wits & war against an old nemesis called Khan!  When Khan and his soldiers commandeer the starship Reliant along with a terraforming device known as Genesis, the fight begins to stop the mad man and save the final frontier in what is arguably one of the best sci-fi films ever made as we talk Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan!

EPISODE 181: SAVING PRIVATE RYAN

We welcome former active duty Marine Rob from the Random Rambling's w/ Rob podcast to this episode as this time the mission is a man.  Captain John Miller & his squad must trek across the landscape of a brutal world war to save Private Francis Ryan so they can send him home after his three brothers are killed in combat.  Steven Spielberg's masterpiece tells the story of these men as they question their motivations, their lives, & what they endure for the freedoms of the men next to them, those back home, & the value of saving one soldier's life!  It's a perfect film to cover for our 100th film as we discuss 1998's war classic, Saving Private Ryan. Rob brings in  his own perspective on this classic movie from the mind of someone who served & has seen things from the other side & how he relates to what these men went through in 1944 & so much more. 
It's not all serious business though as we talk about Rob's show, various thing sin life such as Rob's military career, kids, & much more!  We discuss what we have watched or played lately in Download This, talk the latest news including the Morbius trailer & Joker's Oscar nominations. EPISODE 180: THE PRINCESS BRIDE

Buttercup believes her true love Westley to be killed at sea by the Dread Pirate Roberts.  She is to be married to Prince Humperdinck whom she does not love but not before she is kidnapped by Vizzini & his associates.  It isn't long before they are being chased by Dread Pirate Roberts himself but as battles of swordplay, strength,  & wits ensue Buttercup is soon rescued and finds out that the Pirate is really her true love Westley as they are reunited at last!  The adventure doesn't end there as they must still keep Humperdinck from going through with his quest to make Buttercup his bride.  Will Westley keep Buttercup his?  Will Inigo get revenge for his father's murder?  All your answers are here as you wish in one of the greatest adventure films ever made as we discuss the classic, The Princess Bride!

EPISODE 179: STREET FIGHTER II THE ANIMATED MOVIE

Bison, the leader of Shadowlaw is brainwashing fighters across the globe to do his bidding in his war to take over the criminal underworld & beyond!  A lone fighter named Ryu is traveling the lands when he gets rod that his childhood friend Ken Masters has been taken by Shadowlaw & it becomes up to him with a few other street fighters such as Guile  & Chun Li to stop the tyrannical madman before it's too late!  It's an all out fight in the classic anime adaption of the hit video game, Street Fighter II The Animated Movie!

EPISODE 178: BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD

A vigilante is killing off crime bosses in Gotham City & cutting into the Black Mask's business.  Batman & Nightwing discover that things are not as they seem with a new player in town  Could this Red Hood be connected with the grisly murder of Batman's former sidekick Robin at the hand's of the Joker?  Or is there something far more sinister at work than even the Dark Knight himself realizes?  We look back at one of the best of the DC Animated Films with the movie adaption of Batman: Under The Red Hood!
