EPISODE 162: LAST ACTION HERO

Jack Slater is action star extraordinaire, but when young Danny, Slater's biggest fan, infiltrates the film world with a magic ticket, Slater's world is flipped upside down when he finds out he is a fictional character.  But it doesn't take long to realize that the bad guys don't stop in the movies or in real life as the evil Benedict plots to use the ticket to wreak havoc in the real world!  It's up to Slater to be a real action hero and save the day!  Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in Last Action Hero, Matt's birthday pick for this week!  We take a look back at this Arnold film, that just really isn't that good but we try to find something enjoyable about it!
We also tell you what we have watched this week in Download This, talk the latest news on Spider-Man leaving the MCU for what appears to be for good, & much more in this week's episode!  We then preview next week's episode, the modern football classic, Friday Night Lights.

EPISODE 161: FORBIDDEN PLANET

When a starship crew investigates  a distant colony that has gone silent, they find just Dr. Morbius & his daughter as the only ones left alive.  Morbius is intent on staying & seemingly covering up a dark secret.  As the crew investigates they discover more than they ever expected in this science fiction classic.  We are joined by Robb Zipp from The Most Epic Adventures ins discussing the classic film that influenced the likes of George Lucas & Gene Roddenberry in 1956's Forbidden Planet!
We also discuss some of Robb's adventures that his Youtube show The Most Epic Adventures is set against & he continues a tradition started last week with an epic ghost story!  We also talk the new Tool album in Download This, preview some fall movies that are coming out including the new trailers from Joker & Terminator: Dark Fate, as well as talk the amazing Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker footage from D23!  We then preview next week's episode for Matt's birthday choice, Last Action Hero!

EPISODE 160: AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON

We are joined on this episode by Sam & Lynsie from the Home On The Strange podcast to discuss this week's film & so much more!  Two Americans, Jack & David, are enjoying the British countryside when they are strangely attacked outside of a small mysterious town!  When David finds out he is the only survivor of the attack he is visited by his dead friend Jack who tells him that he will change into an evil monster if he doesn't take his own life soon & release Jack from limbo.  David is in disbelief at first as things continue to spiral out of control as he questions his sanity before finally changing into what he was warned about & becomes a werewolf!  John Landis directs this horror classic with one of the most amazing werewolf transformation scenes ever filmed in An American Werewolf In London!

EPISODE 159: FIST OF THE NORTH STAR

Kenshiro is a mighty warrior in the post apocalyptic world  who is left for dead after his rival Shin kidnaps his lover to wreak his own havoc on the world.  Three years later Ken returns and allies with two children as he crosses the lands to fight the injustice brought on by Shin & Rao The Conqueror all while reclaiming his place as the rightful Fist Of The North Star.  This anime classic broke new ground when released in 1986 & it's influence is still felt today!  We discuss this classic film as we look back on Fist Of The North Star!

EPISODE 158: FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE

The man known as Monco is a bounty killer, a man who collects the rewards for wanted outlaws.  He meets Colonol Mortimer who shares his profession & they come to discover the whereabouts of the ruthless Indio.  A bank robber who recently escaped from prison with help from his gang and they plan to strike the bank of El Paso.  After discovering the grisly past of Indio, Monco & Mortimer decide a fragile partnership will benefit both of them as they hunt for one of the greatest Western film villains of all time. Clint Eastwood & Lee Van Cleef star in the Sergio Leon directed Spaghetti Western classic, For A Few Dollars More!  We look back at what makes this film possibly the best of The Dollars Trilogy & why Sergio Leone is one of our great film directors of all time!

EPISODE 157: THE NEVERENDING STORY

Young Sebastian finds a mysterious book that as he begins to read takes him away to the world of Fantasia where a Childlike Empress needs the help of the noble warrior Atreyu to save the world from the evil being known as The Nothing.  Atreyu journeys across Fantasia meeting all kinds of fantastical characters along the way, meets great challenges, & has a run in with the evil Gmork, solider of The Nothing!  We discuss this family fantasy classic that brings us back to our childhood, & somehow we turn it R-rated!  It's a fun adventure looking back at this classic.
We also discuss Alita Battle Angel in Download This, talk Deadpool build a bears, take a look at Warner Brothers New Gods flick, & finally discuss the Jay & Silent Bob Reboot trailer!  All this plus we talk crap about Jimmy Fallon & preview next week's film, the Clint Eastwood classic, For A Few Dollars More!

When a stranger comes into town with a guitar case, a blood bath ensues as the Mariachi seeks answers to find his vengeance!  Robert Rodriguez directs Antonio Banderas, Selma Hayek, Danny Trejo, & a cast of stars in this modern action classic!  We discuss 1995's Desperado on this week's episode full of blood, guns, and busted balls!

EPISODE 155: GHOSTBUSTERS

Who you gonna call?  In the summer of 1984 it was these guys weren't afraid of no ghosts as Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, & Ernie Hudson are the Ghostbusters!  Director Ivan Reitman brings this paranormal blockbuster to the screen as three former professors decide to set up shop and form a ghost hunting business as they discover a ghastly plot to destroy New York City.  This paranormal comedy classic is beloved by many and we dive into the classic that is the Ghostbusters!
We also have a ton of news as this years San Diego Comic-Con is now complete!  We talk the huge Marvel Phase 4 news as we discuss what is to come for the Marvel Cinematic Universe!   Plus trailers for Top Gun: Maverick, The Witcher, Star Trek: Picard & much more to talk about from this years Comic-Con! EPISODE 154: MAD MAX

In the not so distant future outlaws run the streets as society is crumbling but a group of police officers try to maintain what peace is left in their town until a motor cycle gang led by the ruthless Toecutter comes roaring in.  Max Rockatansky tries to hang onto his humanity & do his job as a peace officer but he is pushed to the brink of madness when unspeakable horrors are brought upon him at the hands of the gang.  Mad Max tells the story of society on the brink and one man's quest for vengeance when he is brought to his breaking point!  George Miller directed this cult classic as we discuss it on this weeks episode.

EPISODE 153: THE IRON GIANT

An alien robot has landed in a small town & a paranoid government agent wants to destroy it!  Young Hogarth discovers the robot & befriends it leading him on the adventure of a lifetime in which he realizes there is more to any being than just the parts we are made of!  It's a fantastic tale set in 1957 and directed by the amazing Brad Bird with an all star voice cast as we discuss The Iron Giant!  We are joined in this family fun episode by Mark's 10 year old son Mikael as he talks one of his favorite animated films with us!
We also talk some Stranger Things season 3, Long was the first to see Spider-Man: Far From Home, & we talk the end of The Walking Dead comic book, an Akira sequel is coming & more!  Plus a preview of next week's episode, 1979's Mad Max!

EPISODE 152: SPIDER-MAN

He's amazing! He's spectacular!  He's a web of fun! He is Spider-Man brought to life on the big screen for the first time ever in 2002's Spider-Man from director Sam Raimi!  After a long journey to the big screen audiences were finally thrilled to see the adventures of Peter Parker on the big screen in this smash hit film starring Tobey McGuire, Kirsten Dunst, and WIllem Dafoe as the villainous Green Goblin!  A young Peter Parker must come to grip with new powers as Spider-Man as he tries to save the city from the mad Norman Osbourne who takes to the air on his glider as the evil Green Goblin!   Can Spider-Man save the ones he loves & New York City?  It's a blast from start to finish as we discuss this modern super hero classic!
We also talk Toy Story 4 in Download This as well as Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse plus the latest news on The Sandman coming to television & a possible Flash Gordon animated film!  We then preview next week's movie, the animated classic The Iron Giant!
