When a storm hits a small town over night, a mysterious mist comes across the city the next morning as people start their days of repairs after the sever weather.  Soon David and a group of others find themselves locked inside a grocery store while mysterious creatures roam the mist outside.  In what seems to be an impossible situation, they struggle to survive each other inside or face the wrath of the inter-dimensional creatures on the outside.   Frank Darabont directs the Stephen King adaption of The Mist!

After a beast is awakened in the Artic after atomic tests, he makes his way to new York to terrorize it's citizens!  Professor Tom Nesbitt had witnessed the beasts existence but no one will believe him until it is too late!  It's a monster movie of the ages with amazing special effects by  the great Ray Harryhausen as we discuss the 1953 classic, The Beast From 20000 Fathoms!

EPISODE 393: THE SHAPE OF WATER

Elisa works at a top secret facility as a janitor but when a top secret asset is brought in she finds herself forming a unique relationship with the asset, an amphibious creature with humanoid qualities!  When the man in charge Strickland wants the creature killed by his superior's orders, she sets forth a plan to rescue the creature and set it free.  We discuss this extraordinary fable from the mind of Guilermo Del Toro, The Shape Of Water.

EPISODE 392: GODZILLA (1954)

In the wake of nuclear fire, a creature like no other is born from it.  As ships disappear off the coast of Japan, the locals begin to suspect a creature of legend named Godzilla.  The men in control refuse to believe this until the creature attacks!  Once they realize the threat is real, scientist and military commanders rush to figure out a way to stop the monster before it causes destruction across Japan and then possibly the entire world!  One scientist has a divide that could be the answer, but will he use it for the good of the world, or keep it to himself so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands!  We look back at the all time classic as we kick off Monsters, Monsters Monsters Month with the original 1954 Godzilla!

EPISODE 391: SCREAMERS

On a distant mining planet that has been ravaged by war in the year 2078, a military commander must traverse through the devastating landscape to negotiate a peace treaty. To do so, he must survive the primitive robots, blade-wielding, self replicating  killing machines known as Screamers.Along the way though he finds out things are not what they seem and that the robots may have evolved into something he could have never imagined.  Peter Weller stars in the 1995 cult classic, Screamers!

EPISODE 390: FIRST BLOOD

John Rambo, a veteran Green Beret out of Vietnam, tries to track down an old friend who he finds has passed on from the world. As he passes through town just looking for a meal he runs across a corrupt sheriff and his crew who don't like drifters and wants Rambo out of his town by any means necessary.  After they force Rambo to flee to the nearby mountains, the sheriff finds he and his men in a fight for their life as Rambo goes on the defensive against his pursuers.  Sylvester Stallone stars in the classic action flick, First Blood.
We also discuss Dune Part Two more in depth this week, Godzilla wins an Oscar, check out that new trailer for The Crow, and Teen Titans is getting a live action movie finally!  All this and a preview of next week's movie, Screamers!

EPISODE 389: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Steve Rogers continues to embrace his role in the modern world, he finds himself teamed up with fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Black Widow, to go to battle with a new threat, one that has ties to Steve's past.  As the mystery unfolds as to just who the Winter Soldier is, Captain America and Black Widow find that the conspiracy goes much deeper as an agency known as Hydra has infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and plans to bring it down and next the world!  We discuss one of the absolute best films in the MCU this week with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

EPISODE 388: DUNE

House Atreides,a noble family, is sent to the planet Arrakis to get the key to civilization, the production of spice, back on track. But they soon find themselves embroiled in  a war for control of that very spice. as they are betrayed by Hose Harkonnen who sets forth events in motion that will change the universe forever.  All the while a young Paul Attreides finds himself caught in it all as he sees visions of a girl on the planet Arrakis, while also coming to terms with the possibility that he is some sort of messiah!  We take a look at 2021's sci-fi epic this week and discuss Dune.
We also dive into the upcoming remake of The Crow and discuss some films that should not be remade.  We talk about the first episode of the new FX series Shogun as well as the 1984 version of Dune and also a preview of next week's film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Rocky Balboa came from nothing to win the undisputed Heavy Weight Boxing title.  Now living a good life and defending his title for ten matches a new contender emerges in the form of the brutal Clubber Lang.  After a defeat at the hands of Lang and the death of his trainer Mickey, Rocky feels done and finished.  But his former foe Apollo Creed emerges to help train Rocky for the rematch and to find the eye of the tiger to get back to the top of the boxing world.  We discuss Rocky III this week and look back once again at the great Carl Weathers.
